The Bold and the Bashful♥

Good morning, guys! In this small composition I will be talking about the content we saw in unit three: "The Bold and the Bashful."

We could highlight several definitions for each of these words, among which the following could be highlighted:

Bold: It is the type of people who are usually extrovert, outgoing and talkative.

Bashful: It is the type of people who are usually shy, timid, introvert and reticent.

Some of my colleagues agreed to have each of these personalities, others a little bit of both. In my opinion, I would consider myself a bold person, I like to meet new people, be open to any topic that can bring new knowledge in my life, go out, enjoy nature while talking a lot with my friends, etc. I do not think there's anything wrong with being a bashful person, it's just that you are limited to expressing the great person you may be inside.

In the grammar area, we were socializing the adjective clauses.

These are used to add variety, sophistication, and interest to sentences.

We have two kinds of adjective clauses which are: Identifying and nonidentifying clauses.

 Identifying:

  • Modifies specific nouns and pronouns
  • It is not set off by commas
  • It is essential to the meaning of the sentence.

For example: He's the one who works at the Shyness Clinic.

PD: If you delete the adjective clause, the sentence lose its meaning.

Non Identifying Adjective Clauses:
  • It must describe a specific person or thing.
  • It is set off by commas
  • It is not essential to the meaning of the sentence and may be omitted

For example: Dr. Henderson, who invented the Social Fitness Model, was born in 1989.

Here, if you delete the adjective clause the sentence does not loose its sense.

This is basically a summary of what we were working in this unit. Hopefully it could be useful for you all guys.
